Drop a Line – Contact Forms with a Designer’s Touch

Drop a Line - Contact Forms with a Designer's Touch

Being the main means of communication between owner and users, the contact page is, undoubtedly, one of the first things to take into consideration while creating website structure. Unfortunately, not everyone makes their contact page stylish and original, most developers stick to creating plain and home-bred forms with a hint of seriousness.

Justifying their choice by customers who, in the majority of cases, aren’t competent either in design or development so, as a result, they need a more simple and intuitive method of communication. But it’s hard to disagree with the opinion that creative and unique feedback forms that are harmoniously integrated into the design conveys a pleasant and warm experience.

Such an original approach reveals the designer’s potential and creates the impression of a person who thinks over every detail. Also, it has some push effect, since we all want to be involved in something beautiful, even if it is a set of input fields.

Drop a Line - Contact Forms with a Designer's Touch

Today I have collected some extraordinary feedback pages that are made with a warm and careful designer’s touch.

Contact Forms with a Designer’s Touch

Sadowsky Berlin
This design has an impressive cardboard-based design. The rough threadbare paper texture, clearly distinguished lines with overall massive worn touches give a layered and childish look.

Let’s Do This
This site captivates with cheerful and frisky design. Striped blue fields with hilarious descriptive icons harmoniously echo with a green 3-dimensional arrow button.Thin hand-drawn frame adds a note of elegance.

Let's Do This

Basil Gloo
A monochromatic grunge contact form with an enormous, hard not to notice submit button which plays the role of form completion. The form is intentionally made as narrow as possible in order to comply with the main line design and perfectly fit into any small browser size.

Basil Gloo

Troll d’idees
The whole site is nostalgia-driven. The feedback form has a unique retro style with an embedded old typewriter illustration and slightly noised grayish piece of paper with imprinted titles on it.

Troll d'idees

Peter Wesolowski’s Portfolio
This contact form uses a postcard theme. Use of uneven lines as input fields, a hand-written typeface, muted color palette which can be seen throughout the design, and easily recognizable post attributes sets up the correct impression of an exquisite envelope.

Red Monkey Goo
The use of both indented and bulging neatly organized form elements make this contact section sophisticated. The dark coral colorization perfectly stands out on the white background, while the pictured hand of a monkey that holds the fieldset creates a fun and unusual effect.

Hector Escriche
This seamless contact form is bolstered by amazing underground illustrations. Compact, rather simple fieldset made in a subdued golden color harmoniously complements the earthy background image and adds a bit of functionality to the footer.

Fishy
This contact form features an urban design with a pipe network that forms two main areas for descriptive contact information. Clear Google Maps widget and an engaging email form uses a bicolor palette that is traced throughout the design recreating a refined combinatorial effect.

IULLY
This design creates a vibe of childhood and unquenchable imagination. Despite its rather small size, the contact box draws attention with inaccurately hand-drawn fields and a playful submit button that is placed among the riot of illustrations.

David Jimenez Portfolio
This is a personalised contact section by use of a cool self-portrait illustration that is full of emotion and ready-to-send email actions. Dotted line borders, semi transparent dark chocolate box areas and white narrow typography perfectly fit on the dark background with grunge treatments.

Indubitablee
This contact section grabs attention with its unpretentiousness supported by ordinary rectangular fields on the left. However, the huge cartoon-like title, rustic school piece of paper and submit button with ornamental lines add a note of artistry creating a crisp and unified form.

Indubitablee

Besser Leben mit Lehm
This design magnetizes with a sharp and primeval design. Massive graphic in the header and enormous fields establish a welcome user experience while grunge touches and torn edges of the container create an upscale feel.

Miguel el Pellettero
This contact form mimics a watercolor effect created by a wheat paper-textured background and wet brush strokes for box items. Smeared areas are built in as a header and map widget background to complete the composition.

Miguel el Pellettero

Ian James Cox
This design evokes a vibe of simplicity and elegance. It is a perfect example of how to easily build a realistic page using only two main elements: a crumpled white sheet of paper and painted with marker shapes that are supported by cursive typography.

Negocio de Mulher
This design pulls its identity from retro style. Vintage-like picture and beige nostalgic-touch wallpaper as a background which is reflected throughout the whole design recreate exceptional feelings of trust.

Negocio de Mulher

Luhse Tea
Despite not having a contact form, this page charms with its originality and 30’s design aesthetics. Dark blue noised layout image and red retro graphic treatments recreate a mafia-like feeling – you have to click on the poster to send an email.

Hauska
This page is really bustling, but not in the negative sense. A bunch of small scattered animations, a strong black-and-white color palette that easily separates the page into two functional parts and marine themed vector graphics make this contact page really exceptional, although it is not actually a form, but here is where you will find telephone and fax numbers and email address.

Mr Brown
This form utilizes vibrant coloring, tags and vintage paintings in a retro style, while attributes of the home environment produce a confidential and peaceful vibe that forces customers to choose their services.

In Motion
This page is marked by stand out bold typography and smooth monochromatic graphics creating a unique appearance that gives off the vibe of simplicity and temperance.

Qasim Aziz Portfolio
A well executed contact section that showcases only necessary pieces of information: email address and availability status. Semi-realistic town illustrations on a background and imagery billboards add a flair that captures attention.

Qasim Aziz Portfolio

Duotones
This page is divided into two parts. The first one is reserved for the contact form itself with rather mundane and plain execution that exudes an image of restraint and seriousness, while the second part sets off originality and creativity with a realistic radio panel for social icons.

Syropia
This design is an artistic mailing envelope and smooth grunge textures. The vibrancy of a muted red and blue color palette that is beautifully expressed as borders of the envelope and as a headline background is just simply impressive.

Syropia

Studio Netiko
This contact box is a glossy cyan 3-dimensional bubble-chat icon portraying the main purpose of the feedback form. The concept is also supported by a visual image of a connection between the pen and chatty bird.

Studio Netiko

Fakta
A striking design with a touch of subtlety. Although the contact form is not in-depth, it appears to be really elegant due to the harmonious correlation between the small coffee break illustration with a well-made glossy decorative button and seamless fields with a beige background.

Fakta

Groprim
This design conveys an urban experience with its use of heavy grunge street-style illustrations as a background and a wood-textured pillar as a sidebar, while light blue and green main colors give an airy and soft look. Including only two fields that are accompanied by large stamp-based ordinals, this contact form certainly, can’t be overlooked.

Groprim

Coqtail
This contact form covers all the basic contact information in a classy way, representing it as a sequence of data blocks. In order to make it truly special the designer has added an ingenious hand-drawn clarifying image that depicts a website structure that is projected onto the scheme of the unit.

Conclusion

Every designer has their own opinion of how a contact form should look. Some want it to be straightforward and restrained; others prefer it to be no worse than the landing page. All in all, only users can decide which approach gives them more confidence in the service and pushes them to stay and hit the submit button.
