Choosing a color scheme for any website is not an easy task. Why is it more difficult than it looks? The colors are your second identity, right after your logo. Think about Orange, when you see an ad you don’t have to be a genius to know who the advertiser is. Also, with the help of colors you can highlight the most important parts from your website but you have to do it right. Wrong choices may turn your work into dust.
Sports websites are in that category where you have to rely on colors too. The competition in this field is tough, news is all over the place, and the number of online readers is growing. With all this flat design ‘movement’, they stick with their strategy and I really appreciate that these websites are delivering what we want, the mighty content.
As you’ll see in the list below, the UI experience is not that great, the design itself for some of you could be outdated, they don’t have outstanding or unusual color schemes, BUT focus on HOW they use colors in bringing news or tickets sales in front of our eyes.

As you can see most of these sites have something in common: they use bright colors to show what they think is important … ok and the point is? To be honest, this article was not meant to be a long list of sports websites. From the beginning I wrote it with a question in mind and I want to know your answer: It’s life without flat design.
