If you’re a busy web professional then you probably don’t have a lot of time to mess around with apps and websites that have no value. This collection of apps does have a lot of value and may be able to help you get through your day a little bit faster and easier. Don’t be afraid to click and check them out – these are websites that every web pro can use to make their life easier.
Web Apps to Make Life a Little Simpler
Mighty Deals – Web tools at fantastic prices
There are plenty of deal sites on the net these days but I like Mighty Deals because they give you deals on web tools that you really can use, especially if you set up a lot of websites. Web backgrounds, text effects, vector graphics and a lot more are to be had at Mighty Deals and the prices of most items are really quite cheap. They have a ‘deal of the day’ also so check back daily. They also have free sign-up and membership, which is OK in my book
Best Feature – Their Free Stuff page where they highlight freebies every day.
Rescue Time – The virtual boss
This app is for those of you that have a problem with distractions at work. (You know who you are). Rescue Time will analyze the amount of time you’re on the web surfing, working, and whatever else you tell it in the parameters you give it. It will ask what you’re doing, send you notes to make sure you’re on track, and otherwise be your virtual boss. Me, I already have one boss and frankly that’s one too many.
Best Feature – Rescue Time Focus Mode allows you to voluntarily block the distracting parts of the internet for a period of time you specify.
Free Agent – Your online accounting firm
There are a lot of numbers when it comes to running a small / medium sized business. If you’re a freelancer there are even more. With Free Agent all of those numbers are put into a nice, easy to follow and understand format that will help you keep track of everything from billable hours to expenses and everything in between. There’s no cost to set it up also, which the accountant in me likes a lot. It seems very powerful and fully functional too, and might be worth giving a real look.
Best Feature – Free support and bank level security.
5 Minutes:to – Building websites super-fast
The more websites you have as an affiliate marketer the more clicks you get and the more money you make. Setting up a lot of websites can be a real chore though, and that’s why 5 Minutes:to is so great. They let you set up a fully-functioning website, including email, social icons and backups, in less than 5 minutes. That’s fast. The drawback; you can’t set up to collect money and other higher level items unless you pay a fee. It’s still darn fast though.
Best Feature – You can customize each website quite nicely.
Budgetable – Manage your money easily and get deals on stuff too
Let’s face it, most of us don’t have a clue as to where our money goes, how much cash we have or what the total amount of bills we have due equals. That’s where Budgetable comes in very handy. It puts all of those numbers at your fingertips, and will even tell you where you might be wasting money. Cash on hand, bills due, everything you need to know about your money is available and easily taken in. They even give you deals on your fave stores. The only drawback I see is that it’s a little scary to see exactly what’s going on with your money.
Best Feature – Budgetable keeps track of your available cash on hand across all your bank accounts.
Kicksend – Sending photo sets from your iPhone has never been easier
If you take a lot of pics with your iPhone you know what a chore it can be to send them out to everyone you love. Kicksend ends that problem by letting you send up to 30 pics at a time quickly and easily with an interface that I really like. It’s a free service, it lets you comment on the pics, and the pics are high quality. There’s nothing to not like with this one. I think it’s a winner.
Best Feature – You don’t have to be a Kicksend user in order to access the photo files.
Streak – Use your email for more than just sending messages
Streak is an extension to Gmail through Google Chrome that lets you use your email to keep track of deals, people, and all sorts of other goings-on in your inbox that might have escaped you before. Keep track of what client has sent an email to whom on your team, and track emails from multiple team members who are all on the same deal with you. The only problem I see is that I already spend too much time with my email, but this may be very helpful to some, especially network marketers.
Best Feature – Streak lets you write an email now and send it at a predetermined later time.
From excellent prices on web tools to a task / calendar app that puts your appointments at your fingertips, all these apps and websites are great time savers.
