According to the Cambridge Dictionaries Online, surrealism is: ‘a type of 20th century art and literature in which unusual or impossible things are shown happening .’ My own perception of surreal art is the mixture of things that don’t necessarily belong together, or a change in perspective, either in size or shape or both.
Surreal art in web design has not (yet) trended, but there are plenty of examples. The use of surrealism in web design takes the form of photo manipulation, hand drawings, cartoon-style imagery or photographs taken from unusual angles or set up scenarios. You will notice that floating islands are the most popular form of surreal art in web design.

Some of the above examples of surreal art in website design push the limits of surrealism, but they all, for one reason or another, appeared surreal to me! Do you agree?
