Whether you’re selling a product or a service, or simply trying to boost your audience and influence conversion rate is one of the most important metrics for any commercial website.
Your conversion rate may be calculated in a number of ways depending on the aims of your site. It may be based on the number of website visitors that bought a product, or the number of people who signed up to your mailing list, or even the number of people who spent more than five minutes on your site.
Your conversion goals will be personal to you and your site but what you definitely want to make sure you do is maximize them as much as possible for the best change at financial success.
There is a lot of advice out there on how to increase your conversion rates and I’d definitely advise you to read some of it before considering plugins, especially if this concept is new to you. This post by ConversionXL and these case studies compiled by Kissmetrics are great places to start.
Once you’ve got a feel for the most effective ways you can try and increase conversions for your particular site, you’ll have a better idea of which plugins will work best for you.

4. AB Press Optimizer
AB Press Optimizer is available as both a lite (free) plugin and as a premium version with additional functionality. While the premium version is updated fairly regularly, the free version hasn’t been updated in over two years so it’s probably best avoided.
As you’ve probably guessed from the name, this plugin makes it easy for you to integrate A/B split testing into your WordPress site. You can create as many experiments as you wish, changing elements such as images, headlines, forms, and buttons to see which version converts best.
There is also real-time reporting functionality built-in so you can see what your visitors are doing as they’re on your site.
Another interesting bonus over some other split testing plugins is that all data is stored locally on your own WordPress site, rather than on the server of the plugin provider. This means you’ll still have access to all your data without needing to pay a monthly subscription fee.
A personal license costs $49 for one year’s support and updates on a single site. An agency license allows you to use the plugin on unlimited sites for $199.
Bloom is a WordPress opt-in and lead generation plugin from Elegant Themes. You’ll get full access to this plugin with a membership for Elegant Themes, which also gives you access to all other plugins and themes.

Elegant Theme membership costs $89 per year or $249 for lifetime access. If you already have an Elegant Themes membership, it’s definitely worth trying out this plugin before paying any extra for a similar opt-in plugin.

7. Hello Bar
Hello Bar is a simple plugin that allows you to add a full-width floating bar to the top or bottom of your website. You can use this bar to include a welcome message, an email signup form, social media buttons, or a call to action.
It’s an unobtrustive but eye-catching way to increase conversions, whether your goal is to promote a sale, grow your mailing list, or increase social media likes.
While the original design of Hello Bar was as a bar, it’s also possible to choose a pop-up, slider, or full-page overlay, with a choice of a number of different styles and templates.
This is a really easy to use free and effective plugin if you don’t mind including the Hello Bar logo on your bars and pop-ups. There is also a pro version available with some additional features, no advertising, and unlimited bars (free accounts are limited to 10 bars) from $12 per month.
Increase Conversions to Increase Success
All these plugins do different things so there’s no point in recommending only one as it will depend on the particular setup of your site and the conversion goals you have in mind, which one will work best for you.
The best course of action is to educate yourself about conversion rates, decide which goals will suit you and your site best, and try out one of the plugins that you like the look of. Remember the key to website optimization in terms of conversion is to keep experimenting and testing so don’t be afraid to play around with the different functions that these plugins provide and make full use of the A/B testing functionality if provided.
Optimizing your site for SEO can also help to boost conversion rates and is definitely something that should be done in conjunction with one of these plugins.
We’d love to know which of these tools you use and if there are any others that you’d recommend – please let us know in the comments.
